An Inaugural Prayer Service was conducted in the school campus to seek the blessings of the Almighty Lord for the smooth functioning of the new academic session 2013-2014. Prayer without lighting the lamp is always incomplete. Rev. Father John the Director, Rev Sister Christo the Principal and all the section coordinators lit the lamp of enlightment. Holy readings from the Guru Granth Sahib, Bhagwat Geeta and Bible were read, So that we are always being showered by his choicest blessings, so that He is always there to guide and show us the right path. Rev. Father John conveyed the message that we should always believe in our self and work with full determination and dedication to achieve success in all our endeavors. He wished everyone good luck for the session 2013-14. The Prayer service was concluded with thanks giving Hymn and finally the School Anthem with the hope that this year brings success and laurels to the school in all the fields.
To bring out the importance of mother Earth, Earth Day was celebrated in Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School, B.R.S. Nagar, Ludhiana. The function began with the blessings of the Almighty God through a prayer dance performance followed by an Earth Day Song ‘I am the Earth’. The students presented choreography and a skit depicting the five elements of mother Earth, telling about their importance in human life and the need to save them. The exuberant students of the primary section showcased their love for nature and the mother earth through a wonderful dance performance. The director of the school Rev. Father John in his message encouraged the students to save mother Earth in various ways. The function concluded with a pledge taken by the Sacred Heartians to live a one planet life and commit to being a voice for a greener world in our community.
Investiture Ceremony for the session 2013 – 2014 was held on 29th April 2013. The occasion was graced by Rev. Father John the honourable Director and Rev. Sister Christo, the esteemed Principal of the school. The ceremony commenced with the Lord’s Prayer followed by a soulful prayer song rendered by the school choir. The Head boy and the Head girl of the session 2012 – 2013 took the opportunity their heartfelt gratitude towards the school authorities for placing immense confidence in them and supporting and guiding them throughout the session. As per the tradition the outgoing Cabinet Members handed over their responsibility to the newly selected Council. The Director and the Principal felicitated the new student’s council by badging them. Nothing could outshine the resplendence on the faces of the newly elected student cabinet members who took an Oath to keep up the pride of the school and to act as role models for the rest of the school to emulate. With a sense of achievement, elation and pride surging an their hearts, the newly appointed Head boy and Head girl proposed a vote of thanks in which they committed to uphold the school’s motto, ‘Learn and Enlighten’ and promised to fulfill their responsibilities with sincerity and dedication while Director of the school, delineated the duties of the young leaders and urged them to shoulders their work with zeal and devotion. The momentous ceremony ended with the school choir rendition of the school anthem.
