Inaugural Prayer Service - 23rd March,2015
The new academic session began on 23rd March 2015 with great zeal and fervor. An inaugural prayer service was held in which the words of the God were read from the Guru Granth Sahib, the Bhagwad Gita and the Bible. The lamp was lightened by Rev. Fr. John, the honourable director of the school, Rev. Sr. Christo, the worthy Principal, Rev. Sr. Betsy, Rev. Sr. Divya, section coordinators, teaching and non-teaching staff.
The Offertory prayers were dedicated to the Lord Almighty to seek His blessings for the new session. Rev. Fr. John, the honourable director gave a very motivating speech to the students to reach beyond the sky. Rev. Sr. Christo, the worthy Principal wished Good Luck to the teachers and students for a healthy and prosperous upcoming session 2015-16.

Nursery Orientation - 31st March and 1st April, 2015
An Orientation Programme was conducted for the parents of Class Nursery on 31st March and 1st April, 2015. The programme was organized to give a warm welcome to the new parents of Nursery as they are new in this Sacred Heart Family and to guide them about rules and regulations, the curriculum and teaching methodology to be followed in the school.
The programme began with the lighting of the lamp followed by beautifully choreographed prayer dance by the students of Class 1st.
A detailed explanation by the teachers and interesting slide presentation provided the parents an insight into our teaching pattern and activities which take place in St. Mary's Kindergarten. The presentation also highlighted the values which we should inculcate in our children and the importance of the role, parents play in a child's overall development. The Nursery Faculty were introduced and the programme came to an end with the inspiring words of wisdom by our Honourable Director Rev. Father John and the message of our Worthy Principal Rev. Sr. Christo.

Health Awareness Week - 7th April - 10th April, 2015
The school is taking an initiative in inculcating healthy lifestyle amongst its students and staff by organizing Health Awareness Week in the school campus from 7th April to 10th April. During this week multifarious activities will be conducted to create awareness among the teachers and students on good health by the eminent doctors of Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, Vasan Eye Care and SPS Apollo Hospitals. Informative talks will be delivered on various important health issues like Food Safety, Myths and Fads related to diet, Swine Flu-Knowledge and Prevention, Computer Vision Syndrome, Style Modification for disease prevention and Adolescent Health Problems. Interactive Sessions will be conducted on general health and eating habits for healthy bones. Free dental and eye check up camps will be held throughout the week for the students and the staff of the school. Awareness on Breast Cancer will be created among the female teachers of the school.

International Career Day - 15th April, 2015
To explore different career pathways and to make an informed decision to cross the threshold of conventional career choices 'International Career Day' was organized in the school. Delegates from foreign Universities of different countries - viz. USA, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand advised students on course choices, career prospects and admission procedures available globally giving an opportunity to the students to interact with them to take career discussions and act proactively. To offer end to end solutions to the students various queries were taken up and stress was laid on one to one interaction with the students. The Director Rev. Fr. John and Principal Rev. Sr. Christo motivated the students to clear their doubts regarding their future career prospective and they appreciated and thanked the delegates from difference universities for guiding the students.

Educational Trip to PAU
Children of class - I were taken to an educational trip to P A U in the supervision of a team of teachers. They were taken to the Randhawa Library which was quiet big and children were given detailed explanation about the person who constructed the library. The stage of early man was also depicted where children came to know about our ancestors and their methods of living. They were taken to the Agromet Department (weather forecast centre).Ostrich and Emu were also shown to them. They were taken to the 'Punjabi Culture Museum' which depicted the Punjab Culture, their clothes, jewellery, utensils which were used by them earlier. They were also taken to Dr. Uppal Museum where 3-D topography was shown to them .Orchards, Wheat and Corn fields were also shown to them. Overall it was a very enjoyable trip and moments spend there will be cherished by the children throughout their lives.

Earth Day - 22nd April, 2015
Earth day transcends all natural borders and time belts and brings people all over the world into one resonating accord, devoted to the preservation of the harmony of nature and yet draw upon the triumphs of technology. This day of nature's equipoise was celebrated with a medley of myriad conservation related activities. The celebration started by invoking the blessings of the all powerful, followed by an earth day song and presentation, all eulogizing mother earth's selfless contribution. A theme dance and the mesmerizing presentation by the children of kindergarten displayed the whole planet being assaulted by the human beings and the need to check the carbon footprints. The Director of the school Rev. Father John and the esteemed Principal Rev. Sister Christo gave the message to show reverence for God's creation and humility in dealing with it as it is the key to our survival. The Chief Guest of the day,
Shri D.S. Brar, IFS, Divisional Forest Officer Ludhiana, also emphasized on the events that envision a sustainable future. A tree plantation drive was also organized, wherein saplings were planted to further strengthen the children's pledge to preserve the bounties of the earth. The programme concluded with the enthusiastic rendering of the school anthem.

Labours' Day - 1st May, 2015
Commemorating the International Labour Day, on 1st May 2015 an event acknowledging the efforts and accomplishments of the support staff for keeping their school neat, clean, well-turned and trimmed, was organized. The management, staff and students of the School welcomed the working staff with floral greetings. The function commenced with prayer followed by dances, poems and choreography specially prepared for the support staff at school. They were besieged by the honour and recognition given to them. Ms. Kanti on behalf of the support staff thanked the management for the honour bestowed on them.
Rev. Fr. John, the Director of the school in his speech, lauded the efforts put in by the support staff in keeping the school in order. Worthy Principal of the School Rev. Sister Christo also termed them as an important asset of the school and virtually indispensible. She said it is hard to manage things without them even for a day. We should all learn to appreciate them and their efforts in keeping the school clean. The celebration came to an end with the school anthem.
The Labour Day celebrations brought a smile on everyone's face.

Sacred Heart Alumni Cricket League 2015 - 12th-13th May
First Alumni Cricket League was organised in the school premises on 12th and 13th of may 2015. The inauguration of the cricket league was done by the Director of the school Rev. Father John accompanied by the Principal of the school Rev Sister Christo. Two matches were played by the teams of Super Seniors, Seniors and the Present team of the school. On the first day the Match was played between Super Seniors (batches from 1994 - 1997) Vs Seniors (batches from 1998 - 2001) On the second day, 7 members of the winning team of day 1 and 5 members from the runners up team had a match with the present team of the school. The nostalgic moments were clearly shown on the faces of the alumni when they were playing in the ground which once belonged to them. The Seniors team form 1998-2001 batch, the winning team was congratulated and felicitated by the director of the school Rev. Father John and the Principal Rev. Sr. Christo. This cricket league will be a regular feature in the years to come. The members of the alumni were grateful to the management of the school for organising such an event.

Motivational Seminar for Teachers - 18th & 19th July, 2015
Motivational Skill Building Seminar for teachers was organized on 18th and 19th July,2015. The seminar commenced with a devotional prayer song, seeking Lord's blessings followed by formal welcoming of the resource person Mrs. Reena Charles, a renowned motivational speaker and educationist, who acquainted the teachers with various techniques of motivating others and their own self. According to her, "Motivation is like a pebble tossed into water. Your influence will be felt in the lives of those around you and for generations to come. It will help in qualitative and productive enhancement , team building, managing stress, communication skills and personal growth with a positive approach." The seminar was a blend of activities and information. The response of the teachers was indeed overwhelming. The seminar came to a close with the words of gratitude to the esteemed Director Rev. Fr. John and worthy Principal Rev. Sr. Christo , thanking them for this novel endeavour.

Independence Day Celebrations- 13th August, 2015
Independence Day Celebrations at Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School regenerated the patriotism in the students. The ceremony started with the prayer dance seeking the blessings of the Almighty to keep the spirit of oneness alive in our hearts. A concoction of events ranging from patriotic song by the school choir, speech to dances and skits were presented by the students of different classes. The young talent from Kindergarten presented a Patriotic dance. A rich tribute to Freedom Fighters was brought to life in form of choreography by the Senior Students of the School. The patriotic vehemence was further enhanced with the message by the Director of the school, Rev. Father John, who evoked the sacrifices made by innumerable Indians, imposing on students to make a firm resolution to make country the best in all spheres. The Principal, Rev. Sr. Christo also greeted the students on the auspicious occasion. The celebrations ended with the National Anthem, sung passionately by everybody.

Intercative Session with Media -13th August, 2015
Rev. Father John, the Director , Rev. Sister Christo , the Principal of Sacred Heart Sen. Sec. School , B.R.S. Nagar Ludhiana had an interactive session with the press reporters on 13th August 2015 to discuss how education can help students in accomplishing their goals in life. While interacting with press reporters ,Rev. Father John highlighted the motto of school "Learn and Enlighten." He explained that our institution aims at grooming each child in to a morally, intellectually & professionally sound citizen. With latest technology, modern teaching methods we make the learning experience the most effective . Rev. Sister Christo added that with honesty, commitment, sincerity and faith in himself, whatever a child does whole heartedly, he will excel in his life. The creativity, enthusiasm and uniqueness inherent in a child are unfolded with the support and guidance of teachers and parents . Father John concluded the interactive session with a message that students should dare to dream the impossible dreams and reach the unreachable stars.

Annual Academic Prize Distribution Function of Primary section - 25th August,2015
The meritorious students of the session 2014-2015 were felicitated at Annual Academic Prize Distribution Function on 25th August, 2015. Honourable Director Rev. Father John and worthy Principal Rev. Sr. Christo were the Chief Guests of the occasion. They awarded certificates to the students scoring C.G.P.A 10 and full attendance from classes II to V. The students who brought laurels to the school by winning different positions in NCO were also felicitated on the occasion. The honourable Director and worthy Principal congratulated all the prize winners and motivated all the students to reach their goals with dedication, diligence and commitment. They also applauded and appreciated the hard work of the students and sincere efforts put up by the teachers to guide them and make them realize their goals.

The meritorious students of the session 2014-2015 were felicitated at Annual Academic Prize Distribution Function on 27th August, 2015. Mrs. Richa Agnihotri ACP Traffic Police, Ludhiana was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The students from classes VI to X scoring CGPA 10, position holders of class XI, students with full attendance were awarded with certificates and trophies. The students who brought laurels to the school by winning different positions in NSO, NCO and IMO were also felicitated on the occasion. The Chief Guest, Mrs. Richa Agnihotri also congratulated all the prize winners and motivated the students to continue their toil and attain greater heights in life with dedication, diligence and commitment. Rev. Father John, the Director of the school and Rev. Sr. Christo, worthy Principal applauded and appreciated the hard work of the students and sincere efforts put up by the teachers to guide them and make them realize their goals.

Teachers' Day Celebrations - 4th September, 2015
Teachers' day was celebrated with great zeal and aplomb in the school on 4th September, 2015. The function started with a prayer dance presented by the students of primary section. Student volunteers presented flowers as a token of their love and appreciation to the teachers followed by a group song that focused on the indispensable role of the teachers as mentors in the school and society. Sacred Heartians lauded the teachers for being friends, philosophers and guides to children, leaving an indelible imprint on their tender minds. The tiny tots of kindergarten danced on the rhythmic beats and vibrant music and filled the air with scintillating amalgamation. A play which mirrored the teachers as architects of the future generation and the ones who bring about a positive change in the overall behavior and guide them to achieve their dreams. A mesmerizing choreography was performed as a tribute to the missile man, former President , Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam, who left for his heavenly abode on 28th July 2015. The teachers were overwhelmed and expressed their gratitude towards the school management and students for their warm endeavour. Speaking on the occasion, Rev. Father John, the esteemed Director of the school and Rev. Sr. Christo, the worthy Principal of the school acknowledged the relentless services being rendered by the teachers of the school. The curtain came down with the recital of the National Anthem.

Children's Day Celebrations - 10th November, 2015
Commemorating the Birth Anniversary of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, or Chacha Nehru for children, Children's Day Celebrations were held at School on 10th November 2015. The celebrations started with the welcome speech followed by prayer song by primary teachers with Lord's prayer and Bible reading. The teachers of the school went back into their childhood days by singing, dancing to western beats, performing Medley & Giddha for children's entertainment. The function was totally for children's entertainment. All the events were breathtaking. The whole Campus buzzed with excitement. Rev. Father John, Director and Rev. Sister Christo, the worthy Principal of the school graced the occasion with their presence. Speaking on the occasion Rev. Father John lauded the efforts of the teachers and reminded them to see the proper development of the young minds, the future of the country, as they are our most valuable natural resource which need to be nurtured in the atmosphere of love and care. Rev. Sister Christo also shared the importance of Children's Day with the students and asked them to uphold their dignity and self respect in these fast changing times. The Children's Day function ended with giving the Vote of Thanks and National Anthem.

School Exhibition - Incredible India : A Dream Fulfiiled -- 21st Nov, 2015
A multifaceted exhibition: Incredible India-A Dream Fulfilled organized in the school on 21st November 2015 emerged as a thumping success. The exhibition was inaugurated by the most distinguished Education Minister, Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema who was the Chief Guest for the occasion and closed by Mr. Sushil Prabhakar, the Registrar of GADVASU. Mr Pardeep Kapoor, the District Science Supervisor of Ludhiana was the Guest of Honour. Dr. Cheema along with the other esteemed guests took a keen interest in viewing the exhibits and interacting with the students who exuded confidence while explaining to him the various projects and activities that were on display. Going through the exhibits the guests appreciated the students and the teachers for the effort taken.
The efforts of the Director Rev. Fr. John and the Principal Rev. Sr. Christo gave the students a platform to exhibit their talent and creativity that captivated the spectators and left them yearning for more. The exhibits included still models, working models and research base projects which were very innovative and relevant to today's times. To name a few, a clinometer, a probability wheel, the Indian architecture, working of the Banks, hydraulic city, anti-theft and fire prevention security system, robotics and many more. The exhibits were judged by the renowned professionals from the most prestigious institutes of the district and the winners of the different projects were felicitated by one of the illustrious guest, Mr.Sushil Prabhakar, the Registrar of GADVASU. The exhibition left an indelible imprint on the mind of all those who witnessed the extravaganza.

Annual Sports Day - 7th December 2015
Annual Sports Day was organized on December 7, 2015 with great zeal and enthusiasm. Mr. Sanyam Aggarwal (IAS), presently SDM Ludhiana (West) and S. Satpal Singh (DSO) were accorded a hearty welcome by the Director of School Rev. Father John, worthy Principal Rev. Sr. Christo, Sports Department, Section Coordinators with exhilarating rhythm of school band followed by Guard of Honour. The Sports Day commenced with the Prayer Dance seeking blessings of Almighty. The Sports Meet was declared open by the esteemed guest along with hoisting of flag and releasing of balloons. It was followed by lighting of torch by the sports achievers. It was a carnival that showcased the spectacular display of March Past by the NCC cadets and students of all four houses. The Oath taking ceremony was conducted by Sports Captains Taranjit Singh and Shubhika Batra. The chief guest was delighted to watch synchronized March Past. In his address, he applauded sincere efforts of school authorities and staff members in developing a healthy competitive spirit through sports to build up strong character of the students. The Zoomba dance mesmerized the audience. The meet was marked by a wide array of track events by the children of Secondary and Senior Secondary wing. The thrill, vigour and zest were writ large on the faces of participants.

Mr. Naveen Singla (IPS) graced the closing ceremony and felicitated the winners. In his message, he appreciated the fervour of the athletes and congratulated the Director, the Principal, Sports Department and staff members for their perseverance and outstanding performance.
The overall championship trophy was bagged by Shastri House, 1st runners up title went to Gandhi House and 2nd runners up to Nehru House. Kunal Maini of V-B from Sub-Junior Boys, and Anisha Ekka of V-C from Sub-Junior Girls, Harsharanveer Singh of VIII-C from Junior Boys Japjit Kaur VIII-C Junior Girls, Taranjeet Singh of XI-C from Senior Boys, and Shubhika Batra of XI-C from Senior Girls were declared the best athletes of the year. The Annual Sports Meet concluded with rendering of National Anthem.
