Education as a crusade shapes great minds, sets landmarks and propels the course of history. A slight deviance from the mission plays a catastrophe with the nation’s future and a dedicated pursuit of the path leads its countrymen to the pinnacle of glory.

The mission thus visualized came into being on 15th April 1982, under the patronage of His Excellency Rt.Rev.Dr.Symphorian Keeprath, Bishop of Jalandhar, when he inaugurated Sacred Heart Boys’ School with the aim of moulding the younger generation into intellectually mature, morally upright and spiritually inspired citizens. Our Patron’s Mission Statement “ Education is fundamental for the complete development of an individual Sacred Heart Sen. Sec. School endeavours to harness this essential potential by ensuring the highest quality of faculty, resources and infrastructure. These will be structured with a focus on academic in, approach that will meat the ever increasing needs of the pupils. This institution will stand committed to building a society that is vibrant and growing through knowledge sharing and enhancing” Rev. Bishop, our guide and mentor is a unique epitome of pragmatic action, dynamic vision and unwavering determination – all fused into a sublime yet towering personality. He is a zealous missionary and a visionary par excellence. His pioneering dedicated spirit and unparalleled efforts in the domain of education, lit with the light of knowledge. His keen interest, sagacious initiatives in developmental work and sincere efforts to work with to achieve set goals together with his total commitment to his mission are qualities that make him a great educationalist and a living example to imbibe his goodness. His dream is now a reality! Hearty Congratulations to Your Lordship on the 50th Anniversary of Sacerdotal Ordination on 22nd March 2008. We wish you a happy and grace filled retired life. The Diocese of Jalandhar owns and conducts a number of convent schools in Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. One of the main objectives of the Diocese is to reach quality education to every nook and corner of these states. The Diocese has schools not only in cities, but also in the remote villages where educational right of people are neglected due to many reasons. It attempts in its own humble way to further the progress of our nation, which is possible only if its ALL CITIZENS freed from bondages of ignorance. For the general administration of the educational institutions of the Diocese of Jalandhar, "Diocesan Board of Education" has been constituted. All the educational, managerial and administrative policies are made by this Board in consultation with the Directors and Principals ( who are the over-all in-charge of the educational institutions in a particular place concerned ) of its various member Institutions .
The budding stage of the school had Rev.Fr.Kurian Muttathupadam as its founder Principal whose dynamic leadership led the school into unexplored vistas. Starting as a institute meant for boys only, the school eventually diversified into a co-educational institute in 1989.

The Torch - Bearers......
At the helm of affairs, the school has the efficacious and unremitting services of the sisters of the Sacred Heart Congregation. The primary block of the school gained its spell bounding appearance with under the spearheading leadership of Rev. Sr. Lylet , the first Sr. Principal of the school and Rev. Fr. Roby Kolenchery, Director of the school. The footsteps of the same were then followed by Rev. Fr. Charles D’Souza.

The Milestones......

Carrying on the tradition of education as a mission, Rev. Sr. Sobel , a leader with a keen eye on the future, took up the charges as the Principal. Her tireless efforts coupled with the innovative vision of Rev. Fr. Charles gave a princely exterior to the K.G. Block , High School building with the state of art technology housed in its science labs and library.

The school was further blessed with the experienced guidance of Rev.Mathew Nilappana who took up the challenging task of the Director and laid the foundation stone of the Senior Secondary Wing offering Non-Medical, Medical and Commerce streams giving its students an edge in the arena of technical and industrial education, preparing them for the cutthroat competition of the professional world.

On 12th August 1997 Fr. Davis Alappat took over the Director of our school. He has continued with tireless labour and wise management thereby making significant contributions in promoting the cause of education. He has focused on academic excellence and versatility and always encouraged students in their pursuit of knowledge. His tenure of 11 years has been another successful milestone achieved.

Rev. Fr. John Ediyakunnel our present director took charge of his responsibilities on 7th July 2008. He is fully geared up to take the school from strength to strength. An energetic, and dynamic personality, Rev. father John takes keen interest in the day to day functioning of the institution.

Rev. Sr. Sobel, with her farsighted vision and selfless devotion tirelessly worked as the Principal of the school from 1989 to 2010 taking it to the pinnacles of glory. The story of Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School, Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar will always be inextricably linked to Rev. Sr. Sobel whose 21 long years of able administration, dynamic leadership and far sighted vision as The Principal transformed the school into a prestigious institution. The school grew from strength to strength under the stewardship of Rev. Sr. Sobel and achieved several landmark achievements during her tenure as the principal of the school such as enrollment of girls, up gradation of the school to senior secondary wing, establishment of well-equipped modern science, mathematics and computers laboratories, starting of a Counselling Cell, NCC Wing a proactive Old students Association, starting and above all creating an environment conducive to learning. She has diligently canvassed for many modern and unconventional facilities the school now has such as building of an air-conditioned auditorium and church, use of mikes for delivering lectures in senior secondary wing, and the use of digitalized classrooms i.e. Smart Class just to name a few of her salient and significant contributions. She had faced formidable challenges while she championed for this new school, raised funds, customized construction plans, fended off skeptics, educated and inspired several generations of students to become confident, thinking, sensitive and tenacious individuals – traits that she role modeled in her day to day living. Her insightful reflections that were often shared in the school newsletters and assembly speeches inspired both the teachers and students to think beyond possibilities. Each and every pillar of the school is a testimony of Sr. Sobel’s words and deeds. The story of Rev. Sr. Sobel who built a school with people and not school walls taking it to the pinnacles of glory is indeed legendary and awe inspiring within the learning community and beyond.
